He founded and operated Alexandra Capital, a hedge fund designed to deliver alternative investment strategies tailored for Accredited Investors, Financial Institutions, and Family Offices. Prior to his hedge fund venture, Steven held the position of Investment Director at Softbank China Venture Capital, a leading private equity firm in China renowned for its early investment in Alibaba. Additionally, he has substantial experience in portfolio management, having managed global and regional funds at DBS Asset Management and UOB Asset Management. Currently, Steven serves as a Senior Business Consultant at the Singapore office of Morgan Vantage Group, where he also acts as a fund manager for family offices, leveraging his diverse investment background to provide tailored financial solutions.

Steven recently served as a hedge fund manager at Alexandra Capital, which he co-founded. He developed a multi-asset class strategy tailored for Accredited Investors, Financial Institutions, and Family Offices. Alexandra Capital partnered with the Hangzhou-based Overseas Chinese Fund and operated in Singapore under the MAS-registered Overseas Chinese Investment Management from early 2017 until early 2020, when operations ceased due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Before founding Alexandra Capital, Steven was an Investment Director at SoftBank China Venture Capital from early 2013 to the end of 2015. In this role, he was responsible for sourcing and evaluating private equity deals, financial structuring, fundraising, compliance, and risk management. Steven has over four years of buy-side experience managing equity portfolios, conducting stock research, and analyzing sectors and geographic regions. He served as Senior Portfolio Manager at DBS Asset Management in Singapore, where he managed Asia Pacific and European equity funds. Prior to that, he was a Portfolio Manager at UOB Asset Management, overseeing international funds with a strategic focus on Europe. Steven began his career at UOBAM as a Senior Investment Analyst, covering financials and real estate sectors across the Asia Pacific markets. In addition to his buy-side experience, Steven has over fifteen years of sell-side expertise, primarily as an equity analyst in the Asia Pacific market. Prior to transitioning to the buy-side, he held the position of Director of Research and Chief Asian Strategist at Standard & Poor’s Asia Equity Research from 2000 to 2005. He was responsible for the regional Telecoms, Media, and Technology sectors in Asia and Japan, and he pioneered equity research for REITs in Singapore and Hong Kong for S&P in 2002.
