Duke Chan, the Head Auditor of Morgan Vantage Group, is responsible for managing risk control and internal financial accounting. His work philosophy is guided by prudence, which entails being cautious and thoughtful when making decisions, particularly those related to risk. However, this does not mean avoiding risks altogether. Duke recognizes that taking risks is an integral aspect of achieving success in the business world. Despite his acknowledgment of the necessity of taking risks, Duke is also aware of the potential consequences of taking unnecessary and excessive risks without a clear understanding of their purpose. This could expose the company and its customers to unwarranted risks, which would be irresponsible. As a result, Duke advocates for controlling risks rather than allowing them to control the organization. Duke's approach to risk control is proactive rather than reactive. He believes in identifying potential risks and creating a plan to manage them before they become problematic. By doing so, he minimizes the likelihood of unexpected financial losses or reputational damage to the company. Moreover, Duke's focus on risk control extends beyond just the financial aspects of the organization. He recognizes that risks can come from various sources, such as cybersecurity threats, natural disasters, or even internal fraud. Thus, Duke works closely with different departments to ensure that risk management strategies are incorporated into the organization's culture and operations.
