Skyline College is one of three comprehensive community colleges within the San Mateo County Community College District, alongside Cañada College and the College of San Mateo. Honors Transfer Program to UCLA
The Honors Transfer Program at Skyline College is designed to nurture students across all academic disciplines, encouraging them to engage in rigorous, creative, community-based, and culturally relevant scholarship. The program aims to produce thoughtful, respectful, and honorable scholars through a supportive community of peers, staff, and faculty. Benefits of the program include original research projects, deeper relationships with faculty mentors, priority registration, leadership opportunities, and eligibility for transfer and scholarship opportunities at esteemed universities.
Program Requirements:
Completion of 4 or more Honors contract courses totaling at least 15 units.
A minimum college and honors GPA of 3.25.
Research projects in each Honors contract course.
Engagement in 16 hours of mutual aid (volunteering, community service).
Transfer Agreements:Skyline College is a proud participant in the UCLA Transfer Alliance Program (TAP), a collaboration between UCLA and the honors/scholars programs at member California community colleges. TAP fosters academic excellence at the community college level and promotes diversity and retention in the UCLA transfer population. Students completing the honors/scholars program at their community college are given priority consideration for admission to UCLA's College of Letters and Science.
Skyline College is also a member of the UC Irvine Honors to Honors Program, offering eligible students early admission and guaranteed entry into the prestigious Campuswide Honors Collegium.
